The BAYON hits the market on 26 October 2026 for ₹9.99 lakh, starting with a 1.5‑litre, four‑cylinder petrol engine that churns out 115 PS at 6,300 rpm and 143.8 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Buyers can choose between a six‑speed manual gearbox and Hyundai’s intelligent variable transmission (iVT), the latter adding Dash Boost Mode, Sporty Drive Tech and paddle shifters for a more engaging drive.
Built on Hyundai’s Global K Enhanced Platform, the SUV stretches 4,245 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width and 1,605 mm in height, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase that gives it a 205 mm ground clearance and a 505‑litre boot. The MacPherson strut front suspension and coupled torsion beam rear axle bring balanced handling, while the 43‑litre fuel tank keeps you out of the pump more often.
What sets the BAYON apart is a generative AI voice assistant that uses Perplexity for conversation and SoundHound for voice recognition, letting you talk about travel plans, weather, restaurants and even live sports. The connected car cockpit, powered by NVIDIA, runs two 12.3‑inch displays that double as navigation and infotainment screens. Over 70 Bluelink features, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a Bose premium sound system make the cabin feel more like a smart office than a car.
Safety is a priority, with 23 ADAS functions under the SmartSense Level 2 Pro umbrella. Highway Driving Assist, navigation‑based Smart Cruise Control, a Surround View Monitor and a Blind‑spot View Monitor keep you protected on highways and in traffic. Three radars and 12 parking sensors, plus six airbags, ESC, Hill‑Start Assist, a rollover sensor and tyre‑pressure monitoring, bring the total safety features to more than 80, a benchmark rare for a mid‑size SUV.
Hyundai will offer the BAYON in seven manual and four automatic trims, from HX2 to HX10, with prices climbing to ₹16.64 lakh for the top‑end manual. Ten exterior colours ranging from Titanium Black to Fiery Red and two matte finishes give buyers plenty of styling choices. Production will start in Chennai, with sales rolling out across major Indian cities from the launch date, while exports will target over 50 markets worldwide.
