Ather Energy’s newest tranche of capital will lift its yearly output to 1.145 million units—up from 920,000—after adding 75,000 at Hosur and 150,000 at Factory 3.0. The Hosur addition is slated for completion by December 2026, while the Maharashtra site will finish in the second quarter of FY28.
The ₹122 crore spend is split between debt and internal accruals, with ₹58 crore earmarked for Hosur and ₹64 crore for the under‑construction site in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. This financing mix keeps the company’s cash flow flexible while scaling production.
A major part of the Hosur investment—₹53 crore—goes to a new battery production line, expected to be operational by Q3 FY28. The line aims to mitigate supply‑chain risks and meet the rising demand for Ather’s electric scooters.
With the expansion, Ather can reduce its current wait‑list and better match the pace of orders that rivals like Ola Electric and Hero Electric are experiencing. The extra capacity should also give the company room to absorb any future shifts in consumer demand without drastic price hikes.
