The Bayon’s built‑in generative AI voice assistant – a first for India’s mid‑size monocoque SUV segment – lets drivers ask about routes, plan itineraries, and even lock the car remotely via the Bluelink app.
Hyundai is positioning the Bayon as a tech‑savvy alternative to the Creta, the Seltos and the MG Hector, offering a 2,600‑mm wheelbase, a 505‑litre boot, 60:40 split seats, and a 1.5‑litre petrol engine that can be swapped for a CNG version in 2027.
With an 83‑percent localisation rate and a target of 92 per cent by 2032, Hyundai aims to keep the Bayon’s price competitive while still delivering global‑grade components such as the SoundHound‑powered voice tech and over‑the‑air updates.
Owners can also tap into a new usage‑based insurance scheme that offers up to 15 per cent savings on own‑damage premiums, tracking driving behaviour through the same Bluelink ecosystem.
The Bayon will roll out in all major Indian cities from March 2025, with the CNG variant expected in January 2027, giving buyers a clear timeline for when the next‑gen, tech‑heavy SUV will hit the streets.
