Hyundai’s Bayon is slated to hit the road in 2027, and it will come with a CNG option from its launch. Chief Executive Tarun Garg told reporters that the company sees room for both the Bayon and the Creta, each targeting distinct buyer groups. The CNG version offers a cheaper, low‑emission alternative to diesel, a move that aligns with India’s push for cleaner fuels.
The Creta, already a best‑seller in the midsize SUV segment, logged over 1.4 lakh units between January and September 2026. Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara and Victoris combined sold 1.7 lakh units in that same window, underscoring the fierce competition in the segment. Hyundai’s combined sales target of 2.5 lakh units for the Creta and Bayon shows the brand’s ambition to capture a larger slice of the market.
Garg said the Bayon will emphasize technology adoption while leaning on the Creta’s established brand appeal. The SUV will be available nationwide from 2027, with initial deliveries expected in major metros like Delhi and Mumbai. Buyers looking for a more sustainable powertrain will find the CNG variant a compelling alternative to traditional petrol models.
Hyundai is set to launch the Bayon in early 2027. The first units are projected to roll out in Delhi and Mumbai, followed by a country‑wide rollout. Keep an eye on pricing, feature set, and how the Bayon stacks up against Maruti’s Grand Vitara and Victoris as the launch date approaches.
